Volunteer

According to the Corporation for National & Community Service, more than 26% of adult Americans contributed more than 8.1 billion hours of service in 2008.  People volunteer for many reasons – to help out the community and people in need, to give something back, to make a difference, to learn new skills, or to make new friends.

Volunteer Activities

Whatever your reason for volunteering, even if you have just a little time per month, please consider joining us.  AniMeals is an all-volunteer program, so your time really does make a difference.   Our volunteers:

  • Pick-up and deliver food donations to a distribution site or homebound clients.
  • Assist on distribution days.
  • Serve as a Neuter Commuter – transporting pets to clinics for neuter/spay, wellness, or veterinary appointments.
  • Plan and assist with neuter/spay or wellness days for clients’ pets at local clinics.
  • Plan and assist with the annual Blessing of Animals and Pets (held in October).
  • Plan and assist with the annual Pet Memorial Service, a liturgy of thanksgiving and remembrance for our departed animals and pets (held in May).
  • Assist supporters in planning collection drives.
  • Update AniMeals’ blog, Web site, and other on-line resources.
  • Assist with phone calls to clients, supporters, and volunteers.
  • Assist with thank-you notes and mailings.
  • Plan and assist with holiday gift packages for clients and their pets.
